From the case of Casey Anthony to missing child Haleigh Cummings, I’m starting to wonder–what’s going on in Florida? In addition, if you watch Chelsea Lately on E!, it seems not a month goes by where she isn’t talking about some wild story out of Florida. I am not trying to make Florida look bad, nor do I have anything against it – as a matter fact I love Disney World! But what I’m talking about are the news stories that always seem to make headlines coming straight out of the “sunshine state”. So we have another head spinning headline involving…guess….

Yes! It’s another “Mother of Year!” arrest straight out of sunny Florida. Check this out….

A Florida woman, aka, “Mom” was arrested after being found passed out in her car, while her son was playing inside a Deltona, Florida McDonald’s. Jessica Jones, 28, went inside McDonald’s to buy her son a Happy Meal. ( I suppose after this purchase she was going to her car for her own happy meal?) After paying for her son’s meal she took him to the play area of the fast food chain and went to her car to…well…pass out, while her eight-year-old son that was left inside McDonald’s–ALONE.

Law enforcement officials were contacted and later found Jones slumped over the steering wheel of her car in the parking lot. Cops found oxycodone and the anti-anxiety medication, alprazolam in her vehicle.

What can I say about this short of bitch slapping my laptop out of disgust? This moron should be sentenced to rehab and then thrown in the slammer. First of all it’s no secret that taking both of these medications is extremely dangerous. I guess this “Mother” felt justified because she bought her son a Happy Meal. It is a blessing that good people were in the presence of this young boy he while his mother was in an opiate haze. The ending to this story could’ve been much worse.

Jessica Jones was charged with child neglect and two counts of possession of prescription pills.
